We will accommodate those in teams and those who want to make up a team; the first-timers and the old hands; the brainy and the barmy!
Food Bank update
The next food bank collection at Asda Walmart will be on Saturday 12th September not 29th August as previously advised. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the foyer, please put your name down if you can spare an hour or two on our local patch.
Wiltshire's churches annual sponsored "Ride and Stride"
Cycle or walk around the Churches of Wiltshire to raise money for your church and Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust on Saturday 12th September 2009. Details and sponsorship forms can be obtained from our local organizer Ron McGiffie.
Is it yours?
There are a number of items in the Committee Room which belong to people/organisations within our church. Would you kindly claim yours TODAY. Have a word with Pauline Davis to see where your item(s) can be stored if you still require them for church use. We would ask that parents please do not allow the children in the Committee Room this week or next. We have no means of locking the door and as there are all manner of items in there we wouldn't want any accidents to happen. Sorry for any inconvenience this may case.
Next Sunday it is proposed that any items left can be taken (and if you think they are worthy of a donation to the ROCK project then please don't hold back - there will be a box in the Committee Room for putting in your gift). If you have any queries then please do speak with Pauline.
Parish Office
The Parish Office is open on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am to 1pm. All items for the bulletin to Wendy in writing first thing on Wednesday please!
Do you buy on line?
We have received our first commission cheque amounting to more than £50! Log on via our website or go directly to http://www.buy.at/StjohnsHW. The church will receive commission from 2% to 12% on anything you purchase.
There are over 100 retailers involved (including M&S, Amazon, John Lewis, Comet) some of which offer exclusive discounts and promotions - and best of all ... there is no extra cost to the purchaser!
Tape Ministry
If you or someone you know would like a recording of the service, please contact Nigel Crowhurst, our Tape Co-ordinator.
