You are already accepted by God, not because of what you have do but because of His grace, so you can stop trying to prove your worth and start living with purpose. Your identity is settled, your calling is intentional, and your actions should come from that place, not from pressure, fear, or comparison.

May God’s word be your source of confidence.

At this meeting we will be electing our new Church Wardens, our new Deanery Synod representatives and there are three places coming vacant for the PCC. Membership of the PCC is an important way to serve the church as the PCC makes decisions about the running of St John’s. If you feel this is a way in which you could use your gifts, please prayerfully consider joining the PCC. If you would like more information, please speak to Patches, Sharon, Ali or any member of the PCC. Mary has forms in church today and they are also available from the Parish Office.
It’s that time of year where we ask everyone to think about how much they give to support the life and ministry of St John’s.

This annual renewal of giving helps ensure the financial security of St John’s for the coming year. The responses you make, together with those of everyone in the congregation, give St John’s the information it needs to be able to plan its financial commitments for the forthcoming year.

We ask you to respond confidentially to our Treasurer, James, using the Promise Cards we’ve circulated, or through the online form on St John’s website (under ‘Church Life’ – ‘Giving to St John’s’ on our homepage. James will process any requests for information and materials to support your giving. We’ll report back to you later in April.

The post Renewal of Giving 2026 first appeared on St John's Haydon Wick.

The post Renewal of Giving 2026 appeared first on St John's Haydon Wick.

Love outlives everything

“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease. Where there are tongues, they will be stilled. Where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” (1 Corinthians 13:8)

God measures life not by talent or recognition but by the presence of genuine love. This verse enables us to examine our motives. It is easy to focus on being right, noticed, or gifted. Yet without love those things lose their worth. Real faith shows in patience, kindness, forgiveness, and care for others. Love is the evidence that a life is shaped by God.

Let love for other be your portion.

Every blessing,

God cares about us. He fills our lives with good things and restores our strength when we feel tired, discouraged, or worn down by life. Just like an eagle that regains its strength to rise again, God renews our energy and hope so we can keep moving forward.

When we rely on God, we are not left empty. He refreshes our hearts and gives us the strength we need for each new day.

May the Lord be your strength and encouragement.

There are moments in life when you feel like you have given all you have, only to find yourself running on empty. Your strength falters, your spirit weakens and you begin to wonder if you have enough to keep going. But in those moments of frailty there is a powerful truth. You do not have to rely on your own strength alone. God is your strength!! He is your portion and sustenance. His love is everlasting and His presence is constant.

Put your hope and confidence in Him!
