11:00am - 1 Chron. 29:10-20 and Colossians 3:22-25

CPAS

CPAS have had to reduce their staff by 50%, and are now trying to move into much smaller offices. So it's a very difficult time for them. Pray that they will be able to sell their current building and source a more appropriately-sized office in the next few months. Pray that they will be able to discern the right person to lead their ministry to children through their many Summer camps.

You've Got the Time

Time is a precious commodity. And one we never seem to have enough of. When it comes to doing a big task, like reading the whole of the New Testament, the challenge of fitting everything in can seem overwhelming. This is where multitasking comes in. What if you were able to listen to the New Testament while you were driving to work, or walking the dog or doing the ironing? You've Got the Time allows you to download the entire New Testament from the Internet, and listen to it on your MP3 player as you go about the business of the day. (If you haven't got an MP3 player, we can get you one.) Some things (like shopping) may require too much concentration. But there are lots of other things which fit very well with listening. That of course includes sitting in a chair with a cup of coffee. If you've never experienced reading or listening to the New Testament in full, this is a great opportunity to do so. We intend to begin on Ash Wednesday, and listen all the way through Lent. You will hear more today from Linda Page.

Jars of Grace

Jars of Grace Jars of Grace are still coming back! The total so far is 64 Jars/gifts.  Last year's total was 78 Jars/gifts and we raised a record £3,064 for Luweero and UNICEF. Our target this year is £3,500! Thank you so much to all of you who have brought back your Jars of Grace or made donations. The total to date is £3,031 (which includes the Christingle, Carol Service and Midnight Communion collections of £517 and Gift Aid tax refunds to come of £291). So we are just £33 short of last year's record total and £469 short of our target! If you still have a Jar of Grace at home, please bring it back to church as soon as possible. And if you didn't use a Jar of Grace, you can still make a donation to the Jar of Grace Appeal 2011. Cheques should be made payable to St. John's PCC.

Play your part in something bigger

Last week we launched the Renewal of Giving 2012. If you were not in church last Sunday and are on the Electoral Roll, or if you have been attending St. John's for a little while, you will find your copy of the Renewal of Giving brochure on the table in the church foyer. Any packs not taken away today will be posted on Tuesday morning. To save postage, please do not leave church today without it. Completed Promise Cards can be returned at any time but it will really help our Treasurer if they are returned by Sunday 19th February at the latest, so we can announce the result on February 26th.

What if I am planning not to make a change the amount of my regular giving?

Do please return your card anyway. It is very important that we get as many cards back as possible so that our treasurer has a clear idea of how much income he can expect to receive in 2012. The more cards that are returned, the less guesswork he has to do.

JAM 2012

J.A.M will be taking place this year on the weekend of 28th/29th April. As usual we need many volunteers to help on the Saturday. J.A.M is a weekend when we invite all the children from Haydon Wick, Greenmeadow and Haydonleigh schools to come along for lots of fun, games and craft activities. Generally we have about 100 to 150 children attending and we need volunteers to help us on the Saturday between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Principally we need volunteers to help with the craft activities in groups of 10 to 15 children, but we also need volunteers to help with the registration period at the beginning of the day. If you can help please add your name to the list on the table in the entrance hallway.
