On Saturday, 21st February, a happy band of 44 of us met for lunch at Hon Xin to celebrate Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), the year of the Horse. It was kindly organised by Charmain who encouraged each of us to wear something red, the traditional colour for Chinese New Year celebrations. After saying Grace, we all got stuck into a lovely time of food, celebration, and fellowship,
with conversations and laughter rippling around the area of the restaurant that had been reserved for us. One particular table was having fun finding out if the typical attributes of their Zodiac signs matched their actual personalities. The results were inconclusive: one Dad’s personality was judged by his son to be not even close to his Zodiac sign, whereas his wife thought it was a 100% match!
Thank you, Charmain, for organising this wonderful event and for leaving us with a Chinese red envelope containing a blessing for the year ahead. (Adie)
