• Think of five things you will thank God about this week.
  • Pray For those sleeping in doorways and parks, in hostels and night shelters. For families who are evicted because they couldn’t pay their rent. For those who have no relatives or friends who can take them in.
  • Pray for those living in poverty. Poverty is devastating. It robs people of their dignity and hope, breaks down relationships, and forces people to live isolated, cold and hungry.
  • Pray for our leaders – MPs, Government, people in positions of influence and power – as they are responsible to give an account to the Lord for the actions they take. Pray that God would lead and guide them, and that they’d hear the voices of those in poverty and be compelled to respond. Pray that they’d be filled with compassion and wisdom, making fair decisions and creating policies that prioritise those in need.
  • Pray for energy companies, banks, water companies, and more, that they’d continue to develop ways to protect their vulnerable customers and those in financial difficulty.
  • Pray that St John’s will be a beacon of light and hope in our community and beyond. Drawing many to encounter the love and grace of Jesus.
  • Pray that St John’s church will be intentional and creative in its outreach in our community and prepared to take a step of faith in the direction God will lead us.
  • Pray that our church will continue to grow deep in love with God and one another. Pray that we may experience a fresh encounter of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that people in this community and beyond may glorify God.
  • Pray for God’s blessing over the schools in Swindon. Pray for the safety of children and young people in and outside the classroom. Pray for their eagerness to learn. Pray that the sky will not be their limit but God.
  • Pray for five people you know, who do not know Jesus yet.
