Jesus said to His disciples, “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be full. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends(John 15:9-13).
In this week of remembrance, give thanks to God for men and women in uniform who gave and give their lives for the sake of your freedom. Let commend them before God for his sure keeping, all those who have died for their country in war, those whom we knew and whose memory we treasure, and all who have lived and died in the service of mankind. Remember to pray for their families.
Let us pray:
Almighty and eternal God, from whose love in Christ we cannot be parted either by life or death, hear our prayers and thanksgiving for all whom we remember this day; fulfil in them the purpose of Your love and bring us all, with them, to your eternal joy, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN.
May the lord bless you and keep you.
