Raymond mentioned the great response last year but demand has been high during 2016 and sadly gaps on the warehouse shelves remain. The good news is that the items we at St John’s focus on as a “breakfast” Church are often items in short supply so our efforts are so appreciated at Foodbank.  Please donate if you can … long life juice and milk, coffee, small packs of cereal and sugar as well as the items mentioned last week. We will be distributing between Foodbank and The Filling Station this year.

Another initiative introduced last year was to stick a £1 coin to a tin you donate to Foodbank if you are able. Foodbank has a proud record of consistently raising funds to support its activities and we at St John’s are equally as proud of our consistent financial support to Foodbank as a Mission Partner. However, times are increasingly hard out there in the Economy and in particular in a crowded Third Sector meaning there has been a drop in income. Foodbank hopes folks will be able to go a small step further in this way to help it cover its costs. Any donation, food or financial, is so appreciated and a real encouragement to the dedicated team of staff and volunteers at Foodbank and a massive thank you to everyone who supports them in this essential work trying to reflect God’s love for us all here in Swindon.
