As a church we partner with eight local, national and international mission partners whose purpose and ethos aligns with our own mission ‘to shine the light of Christ in our neighbourhood’ and we support them through regular financial giving. When one of our local mission partners closed at the start of the year the PCC asked the congregation to suggest a replacement. Thank you to all of you who did – we received a number of really strong proposals and the PCC didn’t find it easy to reach a decision!

We chose The Filling Station as our new mission partner, building on the existing links we have with this charity. The Filling Station is a mobile kitchen which feeds the homeless once a week, building relationships and providing some basic essentials to help get them through the week. It is supported by a network of local churches, including St John’s, who provide food on a rota. Our support will help them continue this vital ministry at a time when their donations and costs have been impacted by the cost-of-living crisis.
