After the seven baptisms last Sunday morning, it was wonderful to see ten candidates going forward in the afternoon to be confirmed by Bishop Lee at Malmesbury Abbey. It was a beautiful setting for the service. Much of the Abbey was ruined under Henry VIII, but what remains is glorious.
We did a great line in “Js” this year. We had Joshua, Joel, Joshua, Jacob, James, Jayden and Jane. But also the non-J’s Emma, Megan, Kayla and Darren. Sadly Jayden was not able to be with us at the confirmation or baptism, because of a bereavement in the family. Mimi King was also baptised at 11:00am. However, the new dates for confirmation will be released soon, and we can hopefully include Jayden soon.
We need to give a special mention to Joshua and Megan, who spoke very confidently about their own faith to the huge congregation packed into the Abbey. A total of three churches sent candidates to the Abbey.
