Historic Churches Trusts make grants of money to churches. Ride + Stride is their single largest source of income and since 1984 has raised £1.6 million in Wiltshire.
Half of that money went to the Historic Churches Trust. The other half went to the participants’ own church. Participants may be cyclists, walkers, riders and drivers of mobility scooters.
The aim is to get people to sponsor you and then visit as many churches as possible on Saturday September 10. Someone signs your form at each church.
Brenda has been one of our “signers” but is not in the best of health right now. All you have to do as a signer, is to wait in church and sign the forms of grateful Ride and Striders as they roll up during the day. If you would like actively to take part in the event itself, our treasurer will be very pleased to hear it.
