Paul and Ruth Woolley were members of St John’s for several years. Paul was a founding member of Theos, a Christian think-tank which stimulated debate on issues in society. When they were with us, he was helping to lead Bible Society here in Swindon. Many of us will remember them with warmth.

Paul is now working with LICC (The London Institute of Contemporary Christianity) and would like to speak to our congregation through the bulletin along with churches throughout the country. We will also see him on a short video on Sunday. Paul writes:

“It’s 40 years since LICC was founded. Our whole-life disciple-making mission is as important to us as ever.

As we emerge out of the pandemic, we’re on tour.

We’ll be in Swindon on Thursday May 12th at 7:30pm at Pattern Church. We’d love you to join us that evening to hear more about how this whole-life vision can transform the way we see our daily lives and work – and how we might partner together to make a difference at this pivotal moment in our culture.

The evening events will begin with refreshments. After that we’ll share stories, research, videos and music that capture the essence of what we do and how we might get alongside you as you seek to be an authentic disciple of Jesus in everyday life. You can learn more on the video on Sunday.

In the coming months, we’ll be in London, Swindon, Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, Salford, and Bristol, with more locations and dates to be announced. But in May we will be with you in Swindon.

Whether you’ve been involved with LICC for decades or only just heard about us, please come and join us for that evening.
