The Bishop of Bristol, the Rt Revd Vivienne Faull, is pleased to announce the appointment of Revd Sally Robertson as Area Dean for Swindon.

Sally follows Revd Trudie Wigley who has recently been elected Chair of the House of Clergy in Bristol Diocese, the role Raymond held for nine years.

During her time in Swindon, Sally has chaired the Swindon-Uganda Link and has formed relationships with Christians from Kampala and Luweero through hosting visits here and visiting Uganda twice. She and Chris went out together to represent our deanery at Bishop Eridard’s consecration.

Sally said : “Over the past year I have enjoyed working with Trudie. I am passionate about encouraging churches to work together so that resources and initiatives can be shared, and Jesus’ name proclaimed by a united body of Christians across Swindon”

The Bishop of Bristol, Rt Revd Vivienne Faull said: “I am very pleased Sally has agreed to take on this important role. She will do it with flair, prayerfulness and commitment. There are both challenges and exciting opportunities as we look to connect with our communities and grow the Church in Swindon Deanery. But I look forward to working with Sally, drawing on her wisdom and experience to enable this.”

Sally worked with Raymond for three years as our Assistant Minister before moving to North Swindon. The entire congregation joins me in sending our warmest congratulations on her recent appointment.

Sally picks up her new role just as we start to see our deanery and diocese moving in a new direction. The fruits of Transforming Church Together will be revealed during the course of 2022. You will certainly hear more.
