For many years we have held a wonderful communion service in James Wilks House once a month on a Wednesday afternoon. The James Wilks residents were joined by a number of church members from the neighbourhood. Bishop Viv was a member of the congregation one Wednesday afternoon not long after her arrival.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to hold any services there since March 2020, and it does not look like there will be any more in the foreseeable future. There is Covid within the building at present, so there is no way we could go in. The warden understandably feels it will be necessary to protect the residents from people coming in from outside for some time yet.

I am sorry to report this sad news. Those Wednesday services will be among the happiest memories of my time here. It always took us a long time to share the Peace together, which says a lot about the quality of fellowship and warmth at that very special service. It will return. But we must be patient
