It was a joy to see members of our worship group at our online service last week, all playing together in church for the first time since March! Their aim is to make music, inspire our worship and, of course, to keep safe. Fortunately, the one thing we have in the church right now is lots of space! A big thanks to you all.
And at 9amwe took another small step towards normality by having a communion service with both bread and wine. Raymond consecrated the wine in the chalice. It was then taken by Sharon to the kitchen where it was poured into a carafe. Everyone came to the rail for bread and an empty cup and then returns to their seat. Raymond then poured the wine into the cup they held out. It is the nearest thing we can get to a normal communion service at this time. And as always – it is done with masks and visors. We must emphasise that this is a temporary measure only for this crisis. However, as it could be a very long time before we are able with confidence to drink from a common cup, this seems to be the best way forward.
