Thy Kingdom Come is 10 days of prayer, from 21st to 31st May, which many churches across the world take part in. Prayer is always important, but the current pandemic may give us more of a desire to call out to God to act. Let’s try as a congregation to spend more time in prayer on our own and together during these 10 days.

A focus of Thy Kingdom Come is to choose 5 people (friends or family), who do not currently believe, and pray for them to come to know the love and peace of Jesus Christ. Please consider which 5 people you will pray for each day. We will have a St John’s prayer meeting (via zoom) on Thursday, 21st May and Thursday, 28th May, both at 7:30pm.

There are also opportunities to join with Christians from all over Swindon to pray in 3 zoom meetings each day, finishing with 24 hours of prayer on Saturday 30th May. (links will be shared via email).

There is a daily Prayer journal you can download and there will be an app for families and an app for grown ups . You will hear more about this at the Sunday service.

You might also like to use the following prayer each day.

Almighty God,
your ascended Son has sent us into the world
to preach the good news of your kingdom:
inspire us with your Spirit
and fill our hearts with the fire of your love,
that all who hear your Word may be drawn to you,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
