Pray for Christians is Turkey (no 36 on the world watch list.) The strong religious nationalism puts a lot of pressure on Christians – it is believed that a true Turk must be a Sunni Muslim. After the failed coup of 2016, President Erdogan has enlarged his power, beginning to transform Turkey from a secular state into a Sunni Muslim one, leaving little space for minorities including Christians.
