A Re-assessment

It became clear to us a few years ago that having eleven full PCC meetings a year was not necessarily the best way of using people’s time. Many people gave up hours to attend – but what exactly were we all there for?

The idea of five sub-teams was attractive.

  • Finance Fabric and Governance
  • Discipleship
  • Outreach
  • Prayer and Worship
  • Communication

We planned to review the subteams after two years and see how things were working out. As a PCC we are committed to them. But we believe they need a re-boot.

From Theory to Practice

The Strategic Plan starts with our Purpose and moves on to our Future. You see that as soon as you open up your trifold card. The next step is to put flesh on the bones. What are we going to do? Who is going to do it?

The Strategic Plan sets out the areas in which we would like the subteams will be working but leaves that the planning and outworking to them. The aim is to create a structure which over the years can deliver the things we want to see happening in a thriving church.

The next step is to meet in June at a special PCC meeting in order to re-launch the Sub-teams and allow them to get on with the task of delivering the Plan. The Plan will also act as a guide for them. It will take time but we believe we will gain more in the long term.
