Peter and Sally Bartlett have long been friends of St John’s. Peter is Bishop of Paraguay and they have both worked in South America together for almost a quarter of a century. They are wonderfully faithful people—in every sense of that word. It is almost time for Peter to lay down his crozier and for them to come home. Their great desire is to see the episcopal role being filled by a Paraguayan national. We expect them to visit us one last time in the autumn.

Albania

For many years your giving has gone to support the translation of the Bible into modern Albanian. The people of this former communist country, whose rulers were once so hostile to Christianity, will receive the Bible in their own everyday speech next year! Albanian pastors spent years in labour camps hardly daring to dream that it might happen. What better thing could we have spent our money on?
