Beatrice has been the headteacher of our school at Bwaziba for many years. She was there when Chris and Raymond first travelled to Uganda in 2009. I was sad to read that she has just been moved to another primary school. It is in the same area, just a couple of miles from Luweero. Unlike Britain, decisions about deployment are taken by people higher up in the organisation. Beatrice is a wonderfully warm person. The last time we saw her she was just about to set off on the Luweero half marathon. We want to pray for her successor, Carol Akulo. The good news is that she leaves the school in an excellent state of repair, after a potentially disastrous landslip destroyed the latrines last year and threatened to close it. St Francis School played a big part in getting the finances together to repair that, and parents have raised money to provide playground equipment (swings and slides) which we know the children were very eager to have.
