St. John’s congregation has provided the funding for a school at Bwaziba which was built in 2000 and has been extended by local contractors and parents. Many members of our congregation have visited both Bwaziba and other schools over the last 10 years.
Can we do more?
We are praying over the possibility of organising an educational trip. A group of teachers and head-teachers would travel out from Swindon together. They would work in local schools, establishing friendships and creating lasting links between schools in Swindon and Luweero / Kampala. Please pray for guidance and wisdom for the local link committee as we consider this idea.
A New Diocesan Initiative
Next summer Chris intends to take six teenagers from deprived are as in the diocese to spend two weeks in Uganda. Interviews have been held to determine the people who are going and three young people from Pinehurst have been chosen. They plan to raise money for their air fares with a series of fundraising activities which I know we will want to support. The only way they will be able to get there is with our help.
