It would be easy to imagine that persecution of Christians is over. But this is not the case.

1. Boko Haram aims to drive all non-Muslims out of Northern Nigeria. Homes and churches have been a major target. Al Shabaab targets Christians in Northern Kenya.

2. In Iraq Christians made up only 3% of the population. Yet a third of all those fleeing Iraq have been Christians. This has been due to a targeted campaign of church bombings, assassinations and the constant fear of abductions.

3. In Syria Christians have been specifically targeted by jihadi groups.

4. In Sri Lanka, when Buddhist monks have disrupted and broken up lawful church services, the police have either taken no action or told the Christians to stop meeting together. We could go on….. (information from BarnabasAid)
