We received this week, a request from a group aiming to set up a Chaplaincy for Swindon law courts.
“The purpose of the chaplaincy is to provide support and help to all people who, for whatever reason, use either the Swindon Combined Court or the Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
The service will provide free, independent and confidential support, including the promotion of the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of court users and court staff. The service will not seek to proselytise.
It is the aim of the steering group to have the Chaplaincy running from late autumn 2017. Set up costs are being funded with help from Swindon Churches Together and other local organisations.
We are currently seeking volunteers from local Church Communities who would like to explore the possibility of volunteering with the Chaplaincy.”
Catherine at the parish office can provide you with further details.
