We first ran The Alpha Course back in 1994. Since then the presentation of the talks has remained basically the same. But this year things are very different.
In the latest set of DVDs, Nicky Gumbel delivers a new series of 29-minute Alpha talks for a new generation. Filmed live at HTB, London, this DVD will be seen in tens of thousands of churches around the world. And we plan to be one of them.
As you can see from the poster on the wall outside the church, our evangelism Sub-Team has been hard at work. The aim is first of all to promote Alpha as a one-off evening, under the title, “Is there more to life than this?”. This gives people a chance to see what it is like.
That introductory session will take place on Thursday 28 September at 7:00pm. with food, drink, a video presentation and the opportunity to ask questions about life and the Christian faith.
We have ordered 200 invitation leaflets which have arrived. They are for congregation members to use to invite people to the course.
The Alpha Course will continue every Thursday evening until December.
