Swindon was in the forefront of developing Local Ecumenical Partnerships. First piloted in 1964, over 800 now exist to promote unity between different denominations. They have been more successful in some places than in others.
OK – so how can we acknowledge the fact that we are not the only Christian church in this part of Swindon. There are several congregations meeting in our immediate locality. The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is a chance to recall that fact. It provides an opportunity for us to take the time just to worship with each other, pray for one another and remind ourselves that the church in North Swindon is a lot bigger than us. And that is important.
There is a service to enable us to do all that on:
Sunday January 22nd at 6.00 pm in Rodbourne Cheney Baptist Church
