Those of you who know of Holy Trinity Brompton, will be aware of some of the excellent material that comes out of there—not least The Alpha Course. That has helped many churches, including this one, with their ongoing evangelism.
For many years, HTB also ran a Marriage Preparation Course which they put it on DVD. Clergy throughout the country loved it.
However, HTB realised there was a need for a course on marriage for those who had already been together for a lot longer. As a result they produced The Marriage Course—for couples who all knew what their partner was really like!
We will be showing clips from this over the next few weeks to give you an idea of what it looks like.
In addition, HTB have produced a Parenting Course. Most parents feel from time to time that they could use a little help and this course, produced in 2016, is bang up to date.
Over the course of the autumn we want to run both the HTB Marriage Course and the HTB Parenting Course. I would like to give full details of leaders, times and venues right now. However, I am not in a position to do so this week. But things are coming together.
What about home groups? Because we aimed to do more than we were able to this autumn, we have had to row back a bit. So it is a good time to take a bird’s eye view at things, and meet to talk things over.
Meeting Together
We aim to bring as many of our home group leaders and members together as possible. Indeed, we would love to talk to anyone interested in the question of how we grow disciples in 2016 in Swindon. You do not need to be a member of a home group to be present.
Please come to a meeting in church on either
- Wednesday 14th September at 7:30pm
- Monday 19th September at 7:30pm
Andy, Carol and Raymond will be looking at how things might move forward in the future. The same meeting will be held on both days, so don’t come to both of them.
The discussions will be hugely valuable for members of our newly formed Discipleship Sub Team. It will give us a chance to look into the future with church members and inform our future discussions on that team.
- We all want a strong and vibrant church.
- We all want to see people growing in Christ.
- We all want to see new disciples becoming future leaders.
- How will that happen? We aim to discover the answer to that question.
