Pray for Swindon Pregnancy Crisis Centre
Please pray for the success of the training course in September (details below) and of a subsequent increase of advisors to help with this very important mission.
Swindon Pregnancy Crisis Centre
SPCC (Swindon Pregnancy Crisis Centre) are running a training course for advisors at the Centre in September. The course will involve some Saturdays. They are looking for people with a mature Christian faith and for compassion with women who find themselves either unexpectantly pregnant or who have suffered a miscarriage or struggling with the trauma of abortion. If you are interested, please contact Pam Fletcher or have a word with Raymond as soon as possible.
News on Andrew
Dear Friends, Andrew is at home at long last. The operation went very well, but it's going to be a long and slow road to full recovery. Andrew is very weak and exhausted and at the moment finds holding a conversation too tiring. We are so grateful to you all for all your love and concern - we just need a little time to pick ourselves up. At Andrew and Jean's request can we ask that there are no visitors until this notice changes.
South American lunch: Sunday 18th July
Quiz question: Which countries in South America have no access to the sea? Answer: Only Bolivia and Paraguay.
This bring and share lunch on July 18th is an opportunity to share hospitality together as a church family, and find out more about Paraguay and the work of our mission partners, Bishop Peter and Sally Bartlett. There'll be music, a presentation, and quiz and South America art work produced by our children's groups, so bring a bowl of food to share and come and join in the fun, and find out more about this country that we support.
Paraguayan recipes available at church if you fancy having a go, or just bring something else to share. See you there.
Russell Riggs
Russell was on BBC local radio last Sunday but one at 8:30pm talking about St John's, its involvement with Uganda and our recent children's event Jam in Deep Water. Many thanks to Russell for that input, and for publicising St John's activities more widely.

Alpha meal
Raymond says a very warm thank you to those four people who have offered to provide alpha meals. Not everyone takes part in the meal, so we only need to provide a meal for seven. Alpha takes place on Wednesday evenings with the meal starting at 6:30pm. If you are able to make supper for seven and put it in a slow cooker, or other cooking pot, it can either be delivered at 6:20pm or earlier in the day. Thanks to the new kitchen, we have all the facilities for serving it warm later on.
Photocopier blues
Someone was struggling last week to print double sided from the photocopier. They were passing everything through twice, which takes forever. There is a much more simple method of doing this. Janice has pasted that information to the top of the machine. Follow the simple steps, and you will get double sided copies without the hassle.
Parish Office
The Parish Office is open on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am to 1pm. Please provide all items for the bulletin in writing first thing on Wednesday please!
