Prayer topics this week
The members of the General Synod as they meet in London this week. For further growth within our homegroups. For those newly moved into the community.
Prayer circle
Here at St. John's we run a Prayer Circle for the benefit of anyone in need of prayer and support at short notice.
It involves little effort on the part of those in the Circle apart from praying for someone in need, and passing the request on by a telephone call.
If you feel you could help in this way then please contact our Prayer Circle Co-ordinator, Jean Dean, or speak to her in church next Sunday, and she will be happy to give you more information.
Renewal of giving
Please pray about your response to the Renewal of Giving and return the Promise Card to our Treasurer, Andrew, in the envelope provided as soon as possible. We would like to have all the responses back before Sunday, 24th February so that the result which we announce at both services on that Sunday will be as full and accurate as possible.
Lent homegroup in church
There will be a 'homegroup' in St. John's on three Tuesdays in Lent - 26th February, and 4th & 11th March - for those who do not normally attend one of our established homegroups.
The evenings will be led by Andrew Dean and will start at 7:30pm with tea/coffee. From 7:45pm we will share worship, Bible study, prayer and discussion and will finish promptly at 9:15pm.
We will be using the same material as the usual homegroups are using in Lent. So, if you are not in a homegroup, why not come and join us in St. John's on one or more of the three Tuesday evenings?
For more information, please telephone Andrew on 725526.
It all goes back in the box
Don't forget either to e-mail Wendy, or to sign the list at the back of church if you would like a copy. We will be ordering the books this week for you.
Easter Day Sonrise Service
As ever, we will be meeting at Barbury Castle at 6:00am, or thereabouts! But what happens afterwards? The last two years we have met in one another's homes for a cooked breakfast. That has been great fun, and something to look forward to in the early morning cold.
However, we did used to meet in church and have breakfast together. You might like to do that again. We can only take that idea further if someone would like to volunteer to organise breakfast in St. John's for about 7:00am this year.
Label Sunday
Many of us are not very sure of the names of other members of the congregation. After a while, it becomes difficult to ask. Next Sunday we will be encouraging you to write out a label with your name on it as you arrive in church. Do please come early so you can do this.
Computer offered as a gift
A Packard Bell iMedia Model with monitor, keyboard, printer, scanner, all associated leads manuals and software, including a large selection of software discs for learning & games ideally suited to children/teenagers. It is in excellent condition. Do you know a child who could benefit from this? Contact Raymond Adams (tel: 634258).
Free ink cartridges! First come, first served!
One of the really frustrating things about having to change your printer is that the new one (same make) always seems to use different ink cartridges! Andrew (725526) invites anyone with a printer which uses Epson cartridges T0441 (black), T0452 (cyan) and T0454 (yellow) to contact him to claim one or more FREE cartridges - first come first served!
