Wendy and Peter Eastwood
Wendy and Peter would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, and messages at this time and to say that Wendy is feeling much better. We wish all our dear friends at St John's a Happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.
Jars of grace
It's time to bring them back! Please bring your Jars of Grace to church on one of the next two Sundays if at all possible. We are aiming to beat last year's total of £2,073 from 81 jars!
The proceeds will be shared between UNICEF (to save the lives of children) and Luweero. Cheques should be made payable to St. John's PCC.
Building project
We are still some £1,500 short of the estimated cost to complete all aspects of the Building Project and we would love to achieve this before the end of the year. Meanwhile, the phials are still coming in - 127 have been returned containing £839. Please bring your phials back as soon as possible.
Christmas flowers
If you would like to contribute to the cost of the flowers used to decorate St John's Church this Christmas, please pass your donation to Andrew by Sunday, 16th December at the latest.
If this is to mark a special occasion or is in memory of a loved one, we will note this in the bulletin on Sunday, 23rd December if you let Andrew have a note in writing with your donation.
Christmas cards
Today the boxes for your Christmas cards to other members of the congregation have been out on the table in the foyer. Please make sure you put your cards in the correct alphabetical box by surname (not Christian name!). Please only put cards in the boxes for members who you confidently expect to be in church during December. And please check the boxes regularly to see if there are any cards for you. We regret we cannot take responsibility to deliver any cards which have not been retrieved from the boxes by Sunday, 6th January, 2008 when the boxes will be put away for another year.

Angels
Congratulations to our home groups for producing such a wide variety of angels. It's up to the children now. Today they will be making their own angels to go alongside those already on display.
Rove's Farm
Our thanks to James and Jo Bennett and Lesley Mead for all the organization that went into last week's trip to the Nativity service at Rove's farm.
Jam In the Caribbean
That's where we're going in 2008. We plan to make some spectacular lighthouses for which we need one large cardboard tube per child. Could you please start collecting them straight away. We will let you know when we get enough!. So, after you have wrapped your turkey in tinfoil, please don't throw the tube away, save them and bring them to church - for Jam 2008!
Do you buy on line?
We have received our first commission cheque amounting to more than £50! Log on via our website or go directly to http://www.buy.at/StjohnsHW. The church will receive commission from 2% to 12% on anything you purchase.
There are over 100 retailers involved (including M&S, Amazon, John Lewis, Comet) some of which offer exclusive discounts and promotions - and best of all ... there is no extra cost to the purchaser!
Tape Ministry
If you or someone you know would like a recording of the service, please contact Nigel Crowhurst, our Tape Co-ordinator.
