Services

We have two Sunday morning services:

The 9:00am service is usually a service of Holy Communion. Once a month we follow the Book of Common Prayer.

Worship being led by the music groupThe 11:00am service is more informal, with the worship being led by our music group. Although people of all ages attend this service there are a lot of young families who enjoy the greater informality of worship. The children are in church for the beginning of the service before going to their own groups. We also have a parent & baby room. An audio link allows those using this room to listen to the service next door. Prayer ministry is available at the end of the service.

The first, fourth (and fifth) Sundays in the month are referred to as 'morning worship'. In other words, it is not a communion service.

On the second Sunday of each month we all stay together for an All Age service. On the third Sunday of each month we celebrate Holy Communion at 11:00am.

Worshipping God through music would be the hallmark of the 11:00am service, while the Eucharist is the centre of the 9:00am. They are very different from each other but have much in common.

Both have a strong commitment to teaching. The sermons are identical. Our aim is to preach through every book of the Bible so that people understand them. Something else both services have in common is a strong sense of humour. There is always a lot of laughter in St John's.

You are very welcome to join us for tea, coffee and a chat after any of the services.
