Pastoral care
Much though parish clergy would like to visit every member of the congregation, it just can't be done. And nor should it be. The Bible talks about the pastoral ministry being one that is shared by many members of the church - it isn't just for those with a dog collar.
Our Pastoral Care Team supports and cares for members of St John’s particularly during times of stress, anxiety, bereavement and illness. They aim to be alongside when people are hurting.
Ministers and members of the team visit the sick at home or in hospital, care for the elderly and infirm, lend a listening ear to those who need it, and get alongside those who are lonely.
Some members of the team are involved in prayer ministry and are available to pray with anyone who needs prayer at any time.
