Home groups
Our home groups have long been places of learning, prayer and friendship.
No matter how hard you try, you cannot build relationships in a big group. It is impossible.
And even with coffee after the service, no matter how delicious, Sunday morning can never be a forum for building relationships.
In a Church like St. John's, with a reasonably large and mobile congregation, it can be difficult to get beyond the stage of acquaintance.
And we believe our community life needs to offer more than that.
Home groups are the only formalised opportunity within the life of the Church, where we encourage the building of relationships.
Although at present our home groups are continuing, we are in the process of developing a new vision for them, so that we can help our members to grow in discipleship.
